Winter Holiday

The softest, most buttery leather jacket ever. Exactly what I wanted and Jordan got it for me. Yay! The next day we left for a freezing a$$ cold week in Utah, so this jacket has already been put to very good use. It smells delicious, and I'm excited to wear it with everything!
Jordan got kinect which is pretty much what he wanted because he kept insisting on buying it for himself the entire week of Christmas. Thank goodness he didnt. I had to act super apathetic each time he brought it up so I probably seemed like a beeotch but I didn't want him to buy it! He wasn't expecting it from me because I'm a broke college student so it was a nice surprise for him for once. I already knew about my jacket because he had to make sure it was the right size when he ordered it. I still made him wrap it though :)
The pictures above are from our last rest stop in Utah on our drive home. This is the prettiest stop and even more so this time because the mountains were covered in snow and the salt flats were covered in a sheet of icy water, which made for some pretty cool optical illusions. It was 12 degrees so we only hung out for about 5 minutes and we had a long drive ahead of us.

Home Grown Nectarines

These are amazing. I gave the first 4 I picked to my parents, and heard nothing but how deliciously sweet they were from my brother Michael. Because we have an abundance of Squirrels and Birds around here, not to mention other rodents, I basically picked them all off the tree so we'll actually have the chance to enjoy them. Those damn Blue jays love pecking the hell out of the Nectarines, and I literally witnessed a Squirrel run off with one in his mouth. It was big too!

Thrift Store finds

Jordan and I have been exploring the various Thrift stores of Sacramento for the past couple of months. We have our staple store, which we LOVE but there are so many places we've been hearing about and want to explore, plus we love thrifting, so why not? We found a liquor decanter in pretty green milk glass. I did some further research and it turns out it's a Canadian Whiskey bottle. McGill's Canadian Whiskey. I freaking love this color. Just a few feet away I came across this pretty green ceramic photo frame to match it.

The Yashika is just plain cool and it's always sitting on the Fireplace. The two photos on the mantle are photographs taken by Jordan's dad with a camera similar to this one, another 120 medium format.

This picture was sort of an accident, but it's a cool perspective. That is all.

Sunshine, Flowers, and Kittens

Two of the most perfect roses from our front yard.
This morning they were in their prime so I had to snip them and put them in my new vase.
Aren't they pretty?

I love the morning light, it shines ever so bright in the kitchen window.

This is our Chausie Zahra. We rarely call her by that name though. It means "Flower" in Arabic. She also enjoys the morning light and smelling the fresh air when I open the window.
Isn't she pretty?

Summer Fruit

I love me some Fruit.
For breakfast, lunch or even dinner. Better yet... dessert! It's too hot for baking and I've already been doing too much of that as it is. (Snickerdoodles anyone?)
Give me something fresh and cold, sweet and colorful and my cravings are met. This is probably why going to the Farmer's Market is one of my favorite things to do. I highly recommend it.

Strawberries, Nectarines, and Peaches.

Oh, and because there was about a third of a cup left of dark ghirardelli chocolate chips from a previous batch of cookies, I couldn't resist melting them and drizzling atop as a "garnish" Ha.

D.I.Y. Nerdness

For the past 2 weeks I wasn't at all into this project that was consuming almost every second of Jordan's free-time... but now that this little gadget is finished I am a lot more enthusiastic about what this thing can do. After all his hard work, endless stops to Fry's, and the lingering smell of wood and paint.....he plugged it in and it worked! The first thing I played was Soul Caliber IV and was amazed at how much more fun it was and how much more control you have when playing with an actual joystick....and buttons that click!

Honestly, I think the best part is the clicking noises the buttons and joystick make when you play. It's quite satisfying. Jordan for the win!

Things that are Green

Thrift Store Find
I love the color green, especially green glass! These tea cups were too cute to pass up. I will drink all things green in them.
